8/30/08 Fished with good friend John from Ohio. Bite was good first thing in the morning, and after 10:00 am with the bright skies and not a whole lot of fish in the system it slowed. Will be out on the river this Friday thru Monday and will have a up-to-date report a week from now.
John with his 3rd fish of the day on a Ping-a-t
I HAVE SEPT 21ST OPEN FOR ANYONE THAT IS INTERSESTED. OVER THE YEARS THIS HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD TIME OF THE YEAR TO BE ON THE RIVER BATTLING THESE KINGS.
Tight lines. Terry

7-29-08 In the next 2-3 weeks there should be plenty of salmon in the Manistee River to target. Lake anglers are doing well in Ludington, Manistee and Benzonia ports. The salmon run this fall should be strong. Fish are averaging 3-5 pds heavier than last year!!
Best baits for these early Kings are Dave's Deep Kaboom Shiner in Fire Tiger, Ping-A-T's or Flatfish. Spawn will produce a few bites, but for now crankbaits will work the best.
If your interested in fishing for salmon this fall don't hesistate to call. Full day trips are pretty much full except for Aug. 23,24,31, Sept. 1,21 and Oct. 5,11,12. I have numerous 1/2 day trips in the afternoon available. These afternoon trips can be very productive, with less boats and fishing pressure, contact me for those dates or checkout my fishing schedule page. If you want to get your name on the cancellation waiting list, shoot me a email or call.
Tight Lines,
Terry

The bite will remain strong with the high water predicted thru this week and the spawning run being 1-2 weeks behind a normal season 231-349-3182.
